Solution improves cooling energy efficiency and offers precise control over heat removal

OptiCool Technologies, a leading provider of refrigerant-based data center cooling systems, today announced the launch of a new system to address challenges in adapting current cooling systems to support high-density racks and AI/HPC applications.

Data center racks are usually laid out in rows, with alternating hot and cold aisles to manage air flow. Aisle containment improves cooling efficiency by preventing hot air from mixing with the cold air. OptiCool’s new AHX-Integrated Aisle Containment solution adds active heat exchangers to aisle containment to eliminate thermal buildup and hotspots while reducing the load on CRAC/CRAH cooling units. Seamless integration into existing data center environments makes this solution ideal for retrofit deployments, as well as new builds.

The AHX-Integrated Aisle Containment features:

  • Hot or cold aisle containment
  • Up to 40 kW of heat removal per rack
  • Adaptable rack height and aisle width
  • Real-time heat load adjustment
  • Redundant Power and A/B temperature sensors

“This solution extends our core competence in refrigerant-based cooling to aisle containment designs,” said Matthew Roberts, VP Sales at OptiCool. “We’re pushing the limits of what can be achieved with aisle containment, and giving data center operators more flexibility in supporting increasing CPU and GPU workloads at a per-rack level.”
